Do You Need a Wedding Florist Who Specialises in One Style?

So… What Kind of Wedding Florist Am I?

Let’ start by being completely honest, I know I will not be the right florist for Everyone.

I am constantly hearing marketing professionals say, “Find your niche and stick to it.”

And I understand why. In a crowded market, being known for something specific can make it easier for the right people to find you.

But every time I hear it, I find myself wondering…

What exactly is my niche?

I’m not only a luxury wedding florist.

I’m not only an alternative wedding florist.

I’m not only minimalist.

I’m not only maximalist.

Because I’m not only one of those things.

Honestly? I’m all of them. And a few others besides.

I completely understand why a couple looking for a particular aesthetic might choose a florist who specialises in it. If you know you want a very specific boho look, for example, it makes perfect sense to find a florist whose portfolio is full of exactly that.

But for me, creativity thrives on variety.

I’ve spent decades learning my craft, and that experience means I can work across a huge range of floral styles. I can create something romantic and refined, wild and abundant, modern and minimal, colourful and playful — and, importantly, make it well.

So why would I want to restrict myself to one particular aesthetic?

For me, that would take away one of the things I love most about floristry: the opportunity to keep creating, experimenting and learning.

My experience gives me the freedom to be flexible. I don’t need to define myself by one narrow style because I have the knowledge and confidence to create flowers that suit the person, rather than making the person suit my style.

And that applies to the size and scale of a wedding too.

I’m as happy working on a full-scale castle wedding, creating flowers for a room full of guests, as I am making two bouquets and a buttonhole for a small registry office wedding.

For me, the size or style of the wedding doesn’t determine how invested I am in it.

I love the challenge of creating the right flowers for the couple, whatever that looks like.

Some couples know exactly what they want. Others have a Pinterest board full of ideas but no idea how to bring them together. Some want flowers everywhere. Others would rather spend their budget on a few really meaningful details. Some want something traditional and romantic. Others want something completely unexpected.

And I love all of it.

There are very few floral styles that I don’t like or appreciate. I can find something inspiring in almost anything — a new colour combination, an unusual installation, a completely different approach to a bouquet or a wedding that does something I’ve never seen before.

That variety keeps me interested. It keeps me learning. It keeps me creative.

So perhaps I’m not any one of those things.

And perhaps I’m all of them.

Because ultimately, I don’t want to create my wedding flowers. I want to create yours.

My job isn’t to make your wedding look like mine.

It’s to listen to your ideas, understand your tastes, bring my experience and creativity to the table and help you create something that feels right for you.

I’ll give you advice when you want it. I’ll tell you honestly if I think something won’t work. I’ll suggest ideas you might not have considered. And if you already know exactly what you want, I’ll work with that too.

Because most importantly, I’m your florist.

I might not be the right fit for every couple, and that’s okay.

But if you want a florist who is more interested in understanding your wedding than fitting you into a particular aesthetic, then perhaps we might be a good fit after all.

Because your flowers don’t need to look like anyone else’s.

They just need to feel like you.
